Donavon Frankenreiter plays super chilled music in the mould of Jack Johnson (his friend and some time producer.) We were lucky enough to catch him playing at the Surf Lodge in Montauk, back in 2010.
The Surf Lodge in Montauk is a super chilled restaurant/bar located on the coast at Montauk, at the top of the Hamptons.
This place is great for dinner and drinks beneath the stars and, during the summer seasons, hosts many wonderful concerts.
Back in 2010 some friends took us to the Surf Lodge for a Saturday Dinner. We were quite new to the Hamptons, spending a few weeks around Amagansett and Montauk and weren’t aware of this awesome place.
As the sun set we were treated to a concert by Donavon Frankenreiter, the perfect choice for an evening of relaxed Surf music.
Here is my recording of his [at the time] new track. I think it was pretty cool and loved being outside (something rare even in the summer here in the UK.) The chatting crowd seems to be the norm at the Surf Lodge. I hope you enjoy it!

Donavan is an American Surfer and Musician. He released his first, eponymous album back in 2004 and has since delivered 11 more albums and EPs as a solo artist. The Surf Lodge at Montauk
Montauk is the furthest village that make up the Hamptons in upstate New York. Surrounded on both sides by the Atlantic Ocean, Montauk has become the go to place for surfer dudes escaping the higher priced surrounding towns like East Hampton. It is home to one of the Oldest houses in America (Second House) and the cool Surf Lodge. On a Saturday Night, the lodge is full of folks enjoying fresh food and plenty of beer on the terraces, looking out to sea.
